Lockatong Engineering, founded in 2001, has always been staffed by Licensed Professional Engineers who stay on top of new legislation, codes, best practices and innovative techniques. Meet Our Professional Engineers and Staff

The quality of any inspection or report depends on the inspector’s expertise. While the industry remains largely unregulated, Lockatong engineers go beyond minimum standards. All are Licensed Professional Engineers and active members of NABIE and NSPE, ensuring access to the latest industry knowledge. Our team is committed to providing unbiased, accurate evaluations and participates in ongoing training and peer reviews to maintain the highest standards.

Tricia L. Romano, P.E.

Tricia is the Owner and Executive Officer of Lockatong Engineering, overseeing company operations and management. A licensed Professional Engineer in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, she brings over 25 years of experience in engineering investigations and regulatory compliance. Her work spans commercial property assessments, building inspections, reserve and transition studies, and environmental evaluations.

She consults for healthcare, commercial, and institutional facilities to ensure regulatory compliance with environmental standards. Tricia holds certifications including 40-Hour Hazardous Waste Training, NJDEP UST A/B Operator, and NJDEP Environmental Air Compliance Auditor. She actively participates in professional organizations and serves as Chapter Director of the Bucks County PSPE and Advocacy Chair of the Healthcare Facilities Management Society of NJ.

Robert N. Roop, P.E.

Lockatong’s founder, Robert, is a Professional Engineer licensed in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York. His over five decades’ experience includes several years on professional engineering staffs at firms in the U.S. and overseas before he established Lockatong Engineering in Rosemont, New Jersey, in 2001.

Working with residential, commercial, and institutional facilities, Robert has conducted hundreds of inspections including transition studies, reserve studies, and property condition assessments as well as residential and building inspections for construction defects, deterioration, and faulty maintenance. He’s designed HVAC system upgrades and maintenance programs and provided construction quality assessments along with expert evaluations for warranty claims of construction defects.

He maintains participatory memberships in several professional organizations.

Devon M. Roche, P.E.

Devon holds licenses in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania with a focus on conducting structural building evaluations for condominium associations. He performs comprehensive structural inspections and develops innovative repair designs when structural deficiencies are identified.

In addition to his work with condominiums, Devon inspects residential, commercial, and industrial buildings, covering both new construction and rehabilitation for various structures in concrete, masonry, steel, and wood. His expertise extends to detailed engineering investigations for commercial property condition assessments, reserve studies, and transition studies, as well as evaluations and analyses of building conditions for single-family homes, multi-family residences, commercial office buildings, and industrial warehouses.

Barbara Giordano, Business Manager

Barbara’s rich knowledge of the industry, familiarity with Lockatong’s practices and expertise, general business capabilities and overall willingness to engage with people have made her a valuable asset to our firm. As head of our support staff, she provides a vital link between our clients and our engineers, especially when it comes to scheduling inspections, defining the scope of a project and answering questions. We greatly appreciate her for her overall competence in every task she undertakes on behalf of our clients and us.
