Area of Expertise

Mr. Permar is a Project Engineer II at Lockatong Engineering responsible for structural inspections of residential and condominium buildings and investigating structural deficiencies in commercial and industrial buildings. His experience includes structural design of wood, concrete, steel, and masonry structures. Other responsibilities include engineering investigations for commercial property condition assessments (PCA), reserve and transition studies, as well as structural building evaluations for condominium associations.

Qualifications

Mr. Permar has 20 years of engineering experience as a licensed professional engineer. He is a licensed professional engineer in multiple states: New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia. He currently specializes in the inspection, evaluation, and analysis of building condition assessments of single-family and multi-family buildings, as well as commercial office buildings and industrial warehouses.

He has performed structural inspections to determine the cause and/or origin of structural damage, failure or movement to structures, as well as providing recommendations for repair. He has worked on projects that included subsidence/sinkholes, water infiltration, fire, vehicular impacts, hail, lightning strikes, seismic activity, tree impacts, explosions, excessive snow-load on roofs, and long-term deterioration. Mr. Permar has also performed construction management duties for repair projects.

He is experienced in preparing written technical evaluation reports detailing defects observed during inspections, the preparation and review of construction documents, and structural repair design drawings, plans, and details.
